Lisa's commitment of fitness began while hiking, rock climbing and horseback riding in Utah's Wasatch mountains. When she moved to New York in 1996, she continued horseback riding, eventually competing in Adult amateur Hunters, Equitation and Dressage. Lisa found that a program balancing resistance training with cardio conditioning greatly improved both her physical condition and her athletic performance.
"I feel that everyone should be incorporating specifically tailored resistance exercises into their lives. When done correctly, resistance training not only strengthens the entire body, but it corrects habitual posture defects, and muscle imbalance, ultimately leading to greater overall health, and improved sports performance."

A background in Biology from the University of Utah, combined with a certification in Fitness Training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine gives Lisa the ability to assist clients in first assessing their current level of fitness, setting up an easy-to-follow, customized workout plan, and finally in performing the exercises with proper form, so as to maximize muscular gains while avoiding injury.
Though she has worked successfully with clients of all ages and abilities, Lisa recently completed a certification in senior fitness, hoping to offer more specific training options to World Gym's senior members.
Lisa holds a degree in Biology from the University of Utah, and is currently working on a second degree in History at Stony Brook University.
"Lisa was unfailingly supportive, focused, energetic, compassionate, understanding, and encouraging from day one. As a result, I have benefited beyond my expectations from the training sessions and look forward to continuing to improve me physical conditioning using the facility's equipment and workouts Lisa designed for my particular needs and abilities. It is a pleasure to be able to recommend Lisa to friends and colleagues who seek to work with a fitness trainer."
